Blake Lively Torn Between Pride of Husband Owning a Wireless Network and Embarrassment of Having to Use Mint Mobile

“It’s a tough world for Blake Lively”, a writer once wrote infacetiously.  The television and film star has reached great professional success beginning with roles in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and Accepted.  The career defining part of Serena van der Woodsen, a name created to be equal parts unbelievable and “of course that’s her name”, in the wildly popular Gossip Girl.  Lively transitioned back into film and has had a steady career of supporting and leading roles.  Personally, Lively seems to have an equally fruitful and resplendent life.  She is married to Hollywood’s favorite fourth wall breaker Ryan Reynolds and together they have a lovely family consisting of three daughters.  With no downfall in sight, life appeared to be an endless stream of sunshine, daisies, and cake pops for Ms. Lively.  That was, up until her husband purchased the telecommunications company Mint Mobile.

Being the adoring and supportive wife that she is, Blake Lively changed her network from Verizon, the champion of all wireless networks, to Mint, her husband’s novice contender.  It has been said that part of Lively died that day.  I would compare the upheaval to having to trade in your Bentley for a bus pass.  When Blake takes a screenshot she has to crop the upper bezel out of the photo for fear of people shaming her provider choice.  Of course it is a sizable boast to impress that your husband is the co-owner of a rather prominent wireless company, but if it means that you have to use it, is the flex negated?  This is the question we asked Blake, well it’s the question we would have asked her if she responded to any of our emails asking her over and over again if she is embarrassed that she has to use Mint Mobile.  I mean I have T-Mobile, and I know it’s no Verizon but at least it’s not Mint.  T-Mobile is the cool company that allows you to use the internet and send texts anywhere.  I bet Mint can’t do it nearly as well.

As a T-Mobile user I can safely say that even though Blake Lively has a great career, a wonderful family, untold riches, has been to the most exotic and sought after places around the world, has a majestic beauty and grace about her, and is forever entrenched in the fabric of American pop culture, at least my cell phone network has been around for a few more years than hers.
